History

Sterling Airlines started its operation as charter airline with two old Douglas DC-6B. It celebrated its 25th anniversary with almost 1,300 staff and 19 aircraft before its bankruptcy.

The regular services of Sterling Airlines to Alicante and Malaga was started in 2000 to compensate the diminishing charter travel industry. The airline decided to expand the routes schedule and leave the charter industry.
