Pacific Blue is known as the flag of convenience of New Zealand and is a subsidiary airline of Australian virgin blue. The airline is based at Christchurch airport and Auckland airport with hub at Brisbane airport.

Pacific Blue operated scheduled passenger flights in the following destinations as of 2009; in Indonesia, Australia, Cook Islands, Fiji, Western Samoa, New Zealand, Solomon Islands, Tonga and Vanuatu.
Pacific blue is currently wing to operate international services into and out of New Zealand, tourist hubs in Queenstown and Rotorua Further expansion is included in the future plans of Pacific Blue to open routes on the trans-Tasman market as well as future service to Adelaide.
Beginning June 5, 2009 pacific blue will be flying twice weekly directly from Adelaide to Fiji and Nadi
Domestic services launched in New Zealand by pacific blue using Boeing 737-800 aircraft on all airlines services. Other three aircraft in pacific blue colours operates under the Australian registration.
The capacities not required by Pacific Blue are given to Virgin Blue. Dunedin was launched with a flight from Christchurch instead from Auckland and Wellington.
Five airports in Australia are being served by Pacific Blue such as Adelaide airport, Brisbane airport, gold coast airport, Melbourne airport, Perth airport and Sydney airport.
