Cheap Oasis Hong Kong Airlines Tickets

Oasis Hong Kong Airlines was then one of the largest growing long-haul low-cost passenger airlines based in Hong Kong before it ceased its operation.

Hong Kong International airport was the airlines main hub and operated scheduled services to Vancouver International Airport and London Gatwick Airport. The service of Oasis Hong Kong airline began in June 2007 and offered non-stop flight from Hong Kong to London.

The airline was famous because of its low budget and minimum fare. However, this was also the reason why it stopped its operation.

Rev. Raymond C. Lee and his wife Priscilla H. Lee along with Steve Miller was the founder of Oasis Hong Kong Airlines in February 2005.

It was in October 2006 when it commenced its inaugural route to London that took off from Hong Kong International airport as flight 08 700.

The belief of the airline that taking a long-haul flight would decreased maintenance and operation cost was a fallacy that caused the Oasis Hong Kong airline to fail.

Flying long-haul burns more fuel and require more maintenance. Further, the airline fails to generate enough revenue to cover its costs and operating expenses.

The losses of the airlines was more aggravated by the competition of other Hong Kong airline that served long-haul route such as British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Air New Zealand, Virgin Atlantic and Qantas.

Moreover, its competitor flew at Heathrow unlike Oasis Hong Kong airlines that was consigned to Gatwick. Before Oasis Hong Kong airlines ceased its operation.

It was voted by the annual world Travel Awards in 2007 as “Asia’s Leading Budget/No Frills Airlines” and World’s Leading New Airlines. It was also cited by the Center for Asia Pacific aviation of Australia as “New Airline of the Year”.

The ceased of operation was determined by KPMG China that was the appointed liquidator of the airline and further announced that unsecured creditors and ticket holders of Oasis Hong Kong Airlines will receive 10 percent of what they owed but was later reduced to 5 percent and no timetable for the distribution of funds given.

Airlines fleet and services

Oasis Hong Kong airline began its daily non-stop flights in November 2006 between Hong Kong and London using two B-LFA and B-LFB that were previously owned by Singapore Airlines.

The fleet increased when the all Nippon airways sold three Boeing 747-400s to Oasis Hong Kong Airlines.
