Cheap East African Safari Air Tickets

East African Safari Air is an airline based in Kenya and operates domestic and regional flight services. The operation is made through its subsidiary East African Safari Air Express; however, its foreign flights were suspended last September 2004.

History

The airline was derived from a company that is known as Car Hire Services (aviation) limited and was founded by Anthony A. Kegode. It was incorporated in the Company’s Registry as no. C. 40158 on the 16th of May 1989. The company changed its name in February 1998 to East African Safari Air limited.

Some of the shareholders during the incorporations of Car Hire Services (aviation) limited were Samuel Gakuru, Mr. William Henry Boyd Parkinson, Mr. Kegode and Pritam Singh Panesar.

Mr. Mohammed Aslam Khan was appointed Managing director of CHS Aviation in November 1990 and subsequently the following month, the Civil Aviation Board granted license to East African Safari Air.

The license allows the airline to operate scheduled and coach services. The airline then CHS Aviation borrowed from Barclays Bank Kenya US$247,000 and purchased from Sataircraft a De-Havilland Twin Otter.

The aircraft was registered as 5Y-KEG in Denmark derived from the first three of Mr. Kegode. However, in 1998 the aircraft was sold to Air Kenya aviation.

CHS Aviation was the first privately owned carrier in Kenya that is granted licensed by the Kenya Civil Aviation Board to operate charter flights using Boeing 707 aircraft to and from South Africa and Mombasa.

The Italian Civil Aviation Authorities and Kenya Civil Aviation Board endowed another licensed to operate charter flights to and from Italy and Mombasa to the airline.

The airline wet leased two Boeing 767 300ER from Air Europe Spa to operate from Milan to Mombasa. Between 1992 to 2002, East African Safari Air had ferried 1,320.000 passengers from Italy to Kenya.

License to operate charter flights from Nairobi to Paris and Mombasa to Paris was granted to the airline in February 1993.

Twice a week route was started using MD82. To provide charter services to Southern Sudan, two Cessna Caravans and a King Air 200B was added to the aviation fleet.

Although East African Safari Air experienced unrelenting cash flow problems, the passenger traffic had steadily gained in numbers that helped in trading out the airline’s crushing debt.

As of March 2008, East African Safari Air fleet includes 1 Fokker F28, 1 Grumman Gulfstream I and 2 McDonnell Douglas DC-9-14 aircraft.
