DBA airline was a low cost airline based in Germany and used Munich International Airport as its main base.

Air Berlin acquired DBA airline in August 2006 but continued to operate independently and was later dissolved in November 2008 by its parent company Air Berlin.

EasyJet intended to purchase the BA subsidiary Go airline and eventually signed an exclusive agreement to purchase DBA that is under the control of British Airways.
However, due to several commitments of EasyJet such as the employment laws in Germany as well as the economic climate, it withdraws its plans to acquire the DBA airline.
DBA airline intended to acquire its rival express Germania Express in order to create Germany’s third largest airline after Air Berlin and Lufthansa. Along with its Fokker F100 aircraft, the Germania Express was phased out and DBA airline assumed the lease.
As of March 2005, DBA airlines had flew 3 million passengers, had 660 passengers and increased its profits. Martin Gauss and Peter Wojahn owned the airline with 20% share and 80% share to the Intro Verwaltungsgesellschaft.
The majority owner of the airline announced to purchase 60% of LTU and planned to link the operations of the two airlines. The plans was to operate DBA airlines inside Germany while LTU will serve international destinations. The said plan allowed LTU to increase its long haul services to Dusseldorf and Munich.
In 2006, Air Berlin had acquired 100% of the shares of DBA airlines but the two airlines operate individually and as an independent company under the umbrella of Air Berlin.
The German Federal Cartell Office cleared the acquisition of DBA airlines by Air Berlin to finalize the take over without restrictions. DBA airline was finally dissolved by its parent company Air Berlin and integrated its planes into the fleet of air Berlin in November 2008. DBA Airline is one of the
